Halloween Posting Extravaganza!

Well folks - been an interesting Halloween - first one back on the mainland for a while...maybe not that long...but different stuff going on other years.  I've put together a number of new projects with new and familiar artists...so much so in fact...that I think I'll save some of it for posting this weekend as well.

Partly to savor the weekend - and partly because I'm tired.  Long week and today ran a little late with errands and other things tonight (not to mention watching the Directors Cut of Nightbreed on blu-ray - look for a review at the sister blog very soon).

Still...plenty of goodness for tonight...just take it in slowly...

First up - from blackshirtboy - not sure how...but apparently Max regained his normal form after the last Fashion Pageant.  Not sure why he would choose to do his Halloween shopping at La De Baucherie Magique....maybe he's just a glutton for punishment...or maybe it was a free gift?

Brief Note

Just a quick note - seeing an older journal from agawaR - I ran it through google translate to see what I could do to get one of my OC's illustrated (Mac or Meg) - even though I've only commissioned illustrations of them from other folks.

It looks like they are interested in Mac as an option (see #11 - via Solios' excellent stylings).  If you have a chance and are interested, please feel free to leave a vote comment on the journal entry before 27 Sep.

Solios - Girls Night In

Well....c'mon....you had to know this one was coming.  Kinda hard to escape it after the last one ;p

In truth I came up with this concept first, but the other one worked out better first....but now, we come to the big kahuna.

It's taken me a while to get this one put together properly.  But I hope you'll agree with me that it turned out beautifully.  I always gotta challenge the artist - Solios says this is his largest single commission pic ever ;p  This is the big one....you can see a smaller version on his DA page.

A bit of a gag in the title since Solios' work here is definitely complete, but I think you'll agree it matches with the following pics :)

I've had some very large ensemble pics in the planning stages for a LONG time...and finally got down to really working on them with Solios.  Completely non-canon as far as Gecko Girls go, but I like revisiting the same characters with different looks.  I hope you enjoy these as well.

Mac: "She looks alluring and enticing - it's Leslie Baker."

Mac: "Well folks, it's been a heckuva ride, but it looks like things are winding up tonight."

Meg: "It is the last night, but we are going out with a bang."

Mac: "That's not necessarily the most appropriate term to describe a night displaying evening gowns - but this will be quite the party.

Mac: "Cheers to us!"

Meg: "That is non-alcoholic right?"

Mac: *sigh* "Yes....just juice."

Meg: "Good, because you know how we get with alcohol."

Gany: "I'm ready to party!...but I can wait till the wrap party."

Mac: "That's good to hear.  We don't need another display like last night."

Meg: "And just in time, here comes Candy - looks like we're in for a really beautiful display tonight.  This La DeBaucherie Magique Fashion Pageant is a real winner."

Mac: "Soooo, we're all set for the final catwalks tonight.  And we're starting with Srijaya."

Meg: "Yep, plenty more very revealing gals to reveal!"

Mac: "Ok...so you gonna take off that trench coat yet."

Meg: "Nope.  I'll give you a peek though."

Mac: "Oh my gracious!!!  Well I never."

Meg: "Don't say I didn't warn you."

Mac: "Momma would be so ashamed of you."

Meg: "Please, she's the one who suggested it - she knew it'd get a rise out of you."

 

Mac: "Ahem...enough of that.  How're you doing Gany?"

Gany: "Ohhhhhh my head.  Feels like I've got buffalo in there."

Meg: "Not seeing any more pink elephants?"

Gany: "I swear, that's the last time I drink......on a live feed."

Mac: "I guess we can settle for that.  Moving on to the contestants again - Leslie Baker has once again proved me wrong.  I didn't think she could ever make adult undergarments so sexy."

Mac: "Yet again, we're back with another round of the La De Baucherie Magique Fashion Pageant!"

Meg: "A very sexy round....potentially the *most* sexy round."

Mac: "Well...this is the Lingerie round after all."

Meg: "So that's why you're looking sooooooo uncovered.  Salome of the Seven Veils and all that."

Mac: "Well, one veil at least....what are you wearing under that overcoat?"

Meg: "Wouldn't you like to know?  Speaking of which - Hi Gany!  Did you have something to show us?"

Gany: "Wooooo!  Party time!  Get a load of this bod!"

Mac: "Well, looks like someone hit the post-show cocktails a little early."

Meg: "Cut her some slack, there's a real party going on backstage tonight!  Even Candy looks like she's having a pretty good time!"

Mac: "Past time for getting this show on the road - Srijaya's coming down the catwalk now.  Good thing we reset all the environmentals to 'comfortable summer afternoon'."

Mac: "Welcome back to the second half of tonight's competition."

Meg: "What's this?  You promised you'd zip yourself back up if I warmed up your suit."

Mac: "Five gallons of hot tomato soup down the back of the neck isn't the same thing."

Meg: "Seriously...you've got enough fat to keep you warm as well - you shouldn't need any help from me."

Mac: "And you've got that nice coat - why don't you lend me the hat?"

Meg: "I've got no hair, you've got piles of it keeping your brain nice and toasty."

Gany: "Come on girls, no need for another fight - there's still plenty of contestants to see - I'm sure seeing some of the outfits there will warm you right up."

Mac: "Fine Meg, we'll talk about this later.  For now, let's take a look at Leslie Baker."

Meg: "Welcome to the third night of the La De Baucherie Magique Fashion Pageant - this is shaping up to be a really interesting competition so far.  What do you think Mac?"

Mac: "mmmm mmmmm mmmm"

Meg: "I couldn't have said it better myself.  What's the theme for tonight?"

Mac: "mmmm mmmmm mmmmm"

Meg: "You know, I sure hope you didn't just say what I think I heard you say."

Mac: "mmmmm mmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmm"

Meg: "You know you don't get to speak until you make the proper safe signal.  It's not my fault if you can't tie a sheepshank knot with your tail."

Mac: *zip* "Seriously Meg?  You need a hobby.  Nothing to worry about here folks - frankly, I'm not sure she knows the definition of bondage."

Meg: "Bondage....bandage...whatever."

Mac: "Ok, so tonight we're taking things in the opposite direction from the last competition.  This time - we've propped the backstage doors open with a couple of Meg's barbells and issued some blankets to the audience - hopefully we can make up some of what we spent on heating and lighting last night."

Meg: "How are you feeling down there Gany?"

Gany: "The draft can be a little chilly, but I'm feeling strangely snug under this cape.  You did say it was fake right?"

Mac: "That's right, it's 100% faux fur."

Meg: "Don't tell her how many fauxs we had to kill to make it!"

Gany: "What was that?  I didn't quite catch that last part."

Mac:  "Never mind Gany....it looks like Candy is coming down the catwalk now - so clearly we're on a mixed theme tonight - fur outfits and/or tight, shiny outfits.  A mixed bag really, but they seem to be popular with a lot of people - not least with the weather being what it has been this year."

Meg: "They're popular with me - I'm snugger than a bug in a rug in this coat.  I bet Srijaya feels almost this good too....but looking at her now....I'm not sure she wants to feel so comfortable."

Mac: "So Meg, did you get a chance to cool off during the break?"

Meg: "If you can call it that....I certainly wouldn't call it a real pool - a hot tub at best - admittedly a little cooler than normal."

Gany: "Quit complaining - you enjoyed it when I hosed you down."

Meg: "I dunno, there's just something about being sprayed with water from someone else's nose that does it for me."

Mac: "I'm not even going to ask.  Let's get back to the contestants."

Meg: "Welcome back everyone to the second night of the La De Baucherie Magique Fashion Pageant."

Mac: "To clarify, we checked with Mistress Arianna, and it is in fact the first ever true fashion pageant built around her boutique.  That's not to say there haven't been any special presentations before, but nothing on this scale."

Meg: "So, making history, that's what I'm talking about.  And additionally, we are deeply, deeply sorry for the delay - technical problems on our end and all that.  Apparently a mouse was caught eating through some electrical wiring."

Mac: "Is that so?  I heard it was a hideous lizard-woman who bet the gaffers she could carry all their rigging gear with one arm tied behind her back."

Meg: "Mac, you know this is how urban rumors are started.  Would you like to hear the one about the fat, hairy frog-girl who cleaned out the caterers?"

Mac: "Ahem...not particularly.  And what's the theme for tonight?"

Mac: "That's what I thought.  Looking at Candy, I'm pretty sure we're running swimwear tonight."

Meg:  "Looks like she's just come from the pool as well."

Mac: "Well, to be fair, the studio is pretty well suited to it today.  Looks like we've made a few accommodations for the contestants.  You may have noticed it's a little warmer in here."

Meg:  "If you can't bring the pageant to the beach, bring the beach to the pageant - in January no less."

Mac: "That's right, heat lamps overhead, we've turned up the brightness a little - complimentary shades provided."  

Meg: "I do believe they've got some sort of pool or tub set up in the rear as well.  Can you tell us any more about it Gany?"

Gany: "Evening ladies - it's true, there are a few amenities added backstage.  If you don't feel like submerging yourself in the pool, there are more than a few stagehands more than ready to...hose you down."

Meg:  "Sounds like a good time...may head back myself during the commercial break to cool off.  So I'm getting a signal...are we ready to begin?"

Mac: "And we're baaaack!"

Meg: "That's right folks, the night is only half done here."

Mac: "You still with us Gany?"

Gany: "I'm not going anywhere.  I think I'll trip on my dress if I try and move."

Meg: "You know it's called a sari."

Gany: "Fine...'sari' I said anything.  Here comes Leslie Baker."

Meg: "Hey Everyone!  Welcome to the first night of this year's La De Baucherie Magique Fashion Pageant!"

Mac:  "We're really sorry we couldn't make it to the initial introductions...the best laid plans of mice and men and all that."

Meg:  "Funny story there...we were visiting our friends Hank and Gany.  Right when we were getting ready to head out, Hank got stuck in the doorway...can you believe it?  I believe she's currently undergoing something described as an 'udder reduction procedure.'"
 

Mac: "She's being milked Meg."

Meg:  "Call it what you will....there were gallons of white liquid splashing everywhere!  Coulda sworn I was on board the 'Nostromo'!"

Mac:  "Anyhooooo, mooooving on....looks like things are starting.  I see Candy walking down the red carpet now.  She appears to be wearing a Vietnamese Ao Dai - that can only mean that tonight we're seeing the 'traditional/cultural outfit' competition."

Meg:  "Well duh.  Didn't you read the script?  Why do you think we've got these keen hats?  I'm like 'Reach for the sky pilgrim!'.....and you're like, 'Elementary my dear Megamilipod.' And why we've got Gany decked out in that get-up."

Mac:  "That's right - everybody, take a good look at Gany!  She'll be acting as our roving reporter for the next several nights."

Gany: "Frankly, this is a pretty embarrassing - I've told you both a thousand times - Gany is short for 'Ganymede'."

Meg:  "Don't sweat it, you look gorgeous - doesn't she Mac?"

Gany: "I feel ridiculous.  I can't even see my feet."

Mac: "Calm down - she's right...you're smokin!  And speaking of which, here comes our first contestant."

CallMePo - Sibling Rivalry

I've had this idea for quite a while - and the longer I followed CallMePo - the more it seemed more or less exactly the right sort of commission for an artist like him.  Only problem for me was - despite his huge number of commissions - I always seemed to miss his really short open periods.  That's the problem with working with a popular fellow.

Still, got in the queue this time - and the results were speedy and excellent!

Meg's not a bully, but as anyone growing up with siblings can attest to...every now and then someone really needs a noogie!

Top artist Jitensha had herself a little Sketch Off this week and I had to take advantage of it.  A great opportunity to get some more visualizations of some characters.

*Update* - Growing Up Gecko - Snareser

As long as I’m posting updates, I’d like to draw your attention to a couple of new character pics Snareser has done for me on the “Growing Up Gecko” page.  Of course one pic is just another gorgeous pic of Mac and Meg – classy as always!  The other pic however, is something that’s taken me far too long to get to – a series of reference character pics for other supporting characters in their universe – who will play a significantly larger part in the eventual story as I piece it together

I’m very happy to present the first images of Dr. Margaret Athena aka “Momma” and the Rt Rev Ignatius Loyola Bismarck – “Father Iggy”.  Their general looks should remain much the same initially, but the ages will change throughout the course of the story.  Not much background to put out at this time – but noting the sign behind them – the story takes place mostly in the vicinity of the planet of New Halicarnassus in the Doric system – specifically around the Halicarnassus Institute of Scientific Development and Learning (HISDL) where Dr. Athena conducts research and teaches.

Weekend Update....becoming a habit!

A few things to note in this weekly weekend update.  First off...regarding "Showdown at Grave's Dam" - it's nice to see that I can post things here and get a reaction from folks.  Thanks for the comments everyone.  I know folks like TG...and Mr-DNA always does an amazing job, but I would have figured most folks watching here would know by now that it can't be that simple if it's one of my projects...it's gotta get weird!  Sure I have a lot of TG-related content here, but that's hardly the focus of this page.  You can go anywhere for TG sequences with happy (or sad) endings...mine just tend to wind up a little more special most of the time.

Next, for our special postings this week:

I have a quick Gecko Girl pinup by Balitiger23 on the "Growing Up Gecko" page.

Next, a quick multi-breast pin-up by The-journey.  Originally, the identity was supposed to be more specific, but this girl worked out alright in my book.  There's also a massive 4.5mb version below the page break.

Next....a quick teaser of my next project.  The several-times-a-week posting schedule of "Showdown" worked so well, I've got another long comic.  This one's over twice as long and featuring another favorite artist - Oppaiman! 

"Looking For Love" will tentatively be posted on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule...but that's still subject to change.  Let's just say...I'm hitting most of my favorite bases in this project.....sooooo, I guess ymmv ;p

If any of you are wondering about the decreased number of listed projects in "Pending Commissions" - there are several reasons for that.  1.  Large projects currently ongoing.  2.  Most of the ideas I've come up with recently have been unfortunately very large/long-form and I haven't had anywhere close to the free time required to sit down and write them up thoroughly.  3.  Funds are a little tighter as well.

Lots of plans in the works, but my job has been really crazy lately and I haven't been able to devote nearly as much time to ongoing stuff - although I do have a number of ideas prepped...just waiting on funds to open up, etc.

Speaking of which...stay tuned for an update re: Donation Projects next week.

Finally - please pass the word about the current Art Contest.  It'd be really nice to have a few more entries next month.  Entries can be submitted at any time - no need to wait till the last night.

More Gift Art, etc

Probably the final art post for 2010 (still a couple more news posts tonight)!  Featuring more photomorphs from nugget in Gift Art.  Speaking of which, nugget would like you to know that he will take requests for transformation subjects (actresses, etc) - provided it's related to mouse/rat, rabbit or donkey.  You can leave requests in the comments section of this thread.

I also have a new pin-up of Mac and Meg on the Growing Up Gecko page.  Hope to get more of them in the next year.  I thought I had a post about this page previously, but can't find anything on it.
