Caption Entry - Jezebel

One last entry for Caption Challenge #3.  This one comes from my friend Jezebel over at Rachel's Haven.

Caption Entry - TG-Spain

Another returning contestant - TG-Spain sent in a couple of entries as well.

Caption Entry - TheUnthinker

Well it came down to the wire, but I did get a number of solid contest entries for Caption Challenge #3.

I'll post them all by the submitter, and then a separate post for the awards.

First we have a number from TheUnthinker (a pretty broad variety of topics including bimboization, tf, tg, and AR/AB/DL) - including the only sequences submitted:

Pink-Diapers - Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween!  It may or may not be a coincidence that my only real Halloween-themed commission this year is also from Pink-Diapers - I've been working with them a lot lately and the projects have been turning out better and better over time.

While there have been fewer posts in general lately, it's more a matter of consolidation - and waiting on pending pieces.

This set was actually a pretty tight rush job (ie. very short notice) - so any issues with the design are entirely due to me waiting till the last second to actually commission something for this year.  Frankly I think it turned out beautifully.  Yes, that is Mistress Arianna - for those keeping count.

BlueBaronDL - Staying Hydrated

Just got back in a running mode lately.  For nearly this entire year I've been doing my cardio on a stationary bike - mostly just because I can do it in my garage on my schedule (ie. 4:30 in the morning or in the afternoon after work).  I'd prefer to run outside, but out in the country, I don't feel too safe trying to run on the side of the road - not when someone like me is driving anyways (much less the other guys).  There are a few other options, but they just don't mesh with my schedule.

Still, they did just recently open a new gym near work and they've got some amazing new treadmills - all kinds of great features - including interactive trail runs across the US and New Zealand and Germany - among others.  Very cool, and fitting very nicely with my schedule lately.

Either way - a big part of getting out and running is staying hydrated.  You gotta keep getting that water - it really keeps you going.

Of course...in this case, there might be something in the water.  I mean...why else would that park be completely abandoned?

Some beautiful work by new artist BlueBaronDL - check him out.  He's got some great prices and works very quickly.

Danielsangeo illustrates: "SRU: Tuning Bimbos"

Unfortunately again - like my most recent Illustrated Stories posting, Danielsangeo got me the pictures a while back and it's taken me a little longer than planned to get everything formatted and uploaded properly.  My apologies.

However, I'm finally able to post an illustrated version of one of my favorite SRU stories - one I've read numerous times over the years since I first came across it - probably soon after it was first posted in '99.  I'm very happy to present:

For the moment, there is one more illustrated story in the works - but I'm not sure how soon it'll be ready.  As a separate reminder - the previously noted contest is still ongoing!

The individual illustrations are posted below as well:

Rellen - Beyond Another Rainbow

Apologies for a belated Halloween post - some things work out, some don't.  That said, I'm very happy with the way this one turned out.  Admittedly, I don't normally like to work with established characters, but the variations on these costumes (references) just seemed like too good of a thing to waste for once.  I might try something like this again.  It did turn out as a nice first project with Rellen.

Caption Challenge Results!

Wow!  Some stiff competition.  Glad I slept on it.

The concepts are solid in all of them but for captions, it's also a matter of meshing the images and ideas with clear text.

I think I'm going to have to give the Single Caption and Sequence Caption prizes to TG-Spain! Excellent selection of images all around and very legible captions.  The progress of related costumes was an excellent selection.

Single Caption:

 Sequence Caption:

Now, obviously I'm a sucker for poodle-girls, but I really like the way TheUnthinker worked in the combination of mental and physical changes in The Best Fur in Town.  It's a little harder to read with the uniform text, but it still works

Thanks again for all the participation.  I love seeing themed captions....not sure yet if I'll be running more direct contests in the future or just offering commissions, but feel free to drop me a note if you have suggestions.

Caption Entry - TheUnthinker

Last set of captions for this Caption Challenge.  They all come from TheUnthinker - some very unique concepts here - let's hope we see more captions from them in the future.

Caption Entry - FurCo

A great little caption by FurCo!  Slightly on the darker side of things...as these things go ;p

Diggerman - Accessorize That Look for Halloween

Been following Diggerman for a while now...just never seemed to have a good chance to commission him - until now!  This concept seemed right up his alley as befits a Halloween themed piece.

I'd say $20 for a costume like one in this comic would be practically a steal!

Enjoy!

Halloween Posting Extravaganza!

Well folks - been an interesting Halloween - first one back on the mainland for a while...maybe not that long...but different stuff going on other years.  I've put together a number of new projects with new and familiar artists...so much so in fact...that I think I'll save some of it for posting this weekend as well.

Partly to savor the weekend - and partly because I'm tired.  Long week and today ran a little late with errands and other things tonight (not to mention watching the Directors Cut of Nightbreed on blu-ray - look for a review at the sister blog very soon).

Still...plenty of goodness for tonight...just take it in slowly...

First up - from blackshirtboy - not sure how...but apparently Max regained his normal form after the last Fashion Pageant.  Not sure why he would choose to do his Halloween shopping at La De Baucherie Magique....maybe he's just a glutton for punishment...or maybe it was a free gift?

Caption Contest 2 - Halloween Costumes

Ok.  Time for a new Caption Challenge.  And just in time for a solid, themed one.

The deadline is midnight 30 Oct 2014!  Just in time to post final entries for Halloween.

This time around, the caption contest is a lot more open - you've got a pretty open selection of images to choose from - and there's no real limits on the themes either - whether TG, TF, mental changes, hair growth, AR/AP, etc.

The concept here is Halloween costumes (or the effects derived by wearing them - although in some cases the costumes may have changed a little too) - through interactions with Mistress Arianna - my original character and/or her establishment - the La De Baucherie Magique boutique - consistent with the previous contest - and it fits the theme quite well.

[Once again] Fairly similar to Spells 'r Us - she's an ageless/timeless character who shows up wherever/whenever she wants to - hence the variety of pics here.  Not everyone who shops at her store is transformed - there are plenty of normal products to go with the special offers - but it seems to affect a significant number of customers.  Additionally, she's fairly easy going most of the time, but if you get on her bad side...things could happen too.

I don't want to limit myself to any particular pics in this case - I'm providing a stack of links - I'd prefer to stick to "catalog" or "reference" costume images (or modified versions thereof), rather than any pics of "normal" folks wearing them in other contexts.

A few examples (copy and paste this time around):

And....let's just say...most of the ones here are pretty much right up my alley:

(you can get alternate pics of these costumes from Electrique Boutique and other sites - but it's a quick reference ;p)

And...I'll count these for costume purposes this time around:

http://themaidstore.com/

I do NOT own any of these pics - they're just ones I've picked up across the web.

I'm opening this up to multiple categories for the prizes too.  A few variations from the previous contest - due to the general nature of the pics.

- Best single caption - Any single caption using a one-character pic. ($25)

- Best caption sequence - Any set of two or more captions following a sequence/storyline (can use single or multiple character pics) ($45) - For this option...keep in mind the various versions of costumes for the same "character".

- Best original design and caption - A little different - this category is looking for the really weird/unique/far-out concepts - to include photo-editing/morphing.  Must still conform to all other contest rules. ($35)

I fully encourage you to share this challenge with other friends and artists you may know who don’t regularly read this site.  Any artist I have previously commissioned from – even the same subject matter – is welcome to compete, but the submission must be a new piece.

On 31 Oct, I’ll announce the winners in each category.  Prizes - via paypal.

Now the hard and fast rules:

1.  All work must be the original work of the person submitting it.  No exceptions.

2.  Single captions - obviously one pic.  Sequences may comprise as many pics as desired.  Any captioner can submit as many entries as they desire.

3.  Captions need to be submitted already formatted and attached to the image - I don't have the time or energy to handle the extra work at the moment due to my work schedule.

4.  Limited sexual references will be allowed, but nothing explicit, and no profanity.

5.  All submissions should include the following information (which will also be posted with the picture): captioner's name and site (for linking purposes - if available), intended caption title (for posting purposes - I'd rather not have to make up a title from scratch if you wrote out the caption).

6.  Unlimited revisions are allowed during the submission period.

7.  By entering a submission, you are automatically giving permission for me to post it on the site clearly labeled and identified as an caption contest entry – and although I would prefer to avoid it, if the captioner wishes to remain anonymous, I am amenable to posting their entries in that fashion.

8.  Submissions should be addressed to me: thrandrall@gmail.com – subject line should contain the artist’s name and that it is intended as a submission for the Caption Contest.  I would prefer to compile all the entries for each captioner in their own post for organizational purposes - so if you intend to potentially submit multiple entries, please let me know up front so I don't jump the gun on posting your pics.

Additional Guidance:
a.  Please proofread your captions in advance for spelling/grammar.  Also please try to choose a font size/color/construction that will make reading easier.  If your caption starts running long, consider submitting it as a sequential piece.  Please try to avoid pics with watermarks too.

b.  Constructive criticism by others is encouraged in the comments section, but *should* be accompanied by suggestions on how issues might be addressed, improved, etc.

c.  I will determine the caption posting schedule as I have time - depending on the size and number, some may be posted sooner than others, but every one that I receive that fits the entry requirements will be posted on the site before the results are posted.

Have at it!

Caption Challenge Entry - TFGhost

Another caption for the Challenge from a photo-manipulator I've been following for a while - TFGhost.

A very nice take on an interesting photo.  Good use of captioning too.

Caption Challenge Entry - Furco

Wow!  Just received a veritable slew of caption contest entries by fur-caption fan furco.

These ones cover pretty much all the categories.  So we'll start with the individual caps.

Sequences can be seen after the break - we've got a real doozy of a story here folks:

Caption Challenge Entry - Mindy Z

Just received a sweet entry from a captioner I've been following for quite a while now - Mindy Z.

I love her style and formatting - I'd say it's a beautiful entry to the competition.
