Navetsea - Overworked

You ever had one of those days at work that just didn't go so well?  Just one long, exhausting trip....wish things were the way they used to be - back when you had it so easy?

Navetsea's got a solution for all of us.

Discussion - Looking for Suggestions, etc.

I've been giving it some more thought recently - and I think that I will need to handle the next several Donation Project pieces a little differently than the previous ones.

Basically - as I've mentioned before, the next several in the pipeline are *very* big...we're talking about a couple pieces each over 40 full-color comic pages.  Now...I don't want to price myself out of the market...I'm thinking $10 is a very fair price - considering the amazing amount of work it took to put these together and the amount of time involved - not to mention that as part of the donation project - more than 30% of each project is going back to the artist(s) involved.

However, as a result, I'm more than a little concerned about the possibility of something this big getting randomly "shared" elsewhere.  I'm almost certainly going to work with a .pdf format this time for readability - as well as security.  That said, I'm posting a poll - I'm researching options for publishing on demand as well.  Would you ever be interested in a hard copy version of one of these projects (or one already posted) - or just an e-version?  Looking for some honest feedback here - as detailed as possible - particularly for folks who've gone that way with their own projects.

FWIW - I also know that my projects tend to not be as "dirty" as a lot of other pieces - even with the amount of transformations I try to fit in.  I know that's to my tastes, but not necessarily to everyone elses...not that it'll necessarily change...I like to be able to offer something that's not complete porn.

I'm familiar with (and researching), IndyPlanet, and Ka-Blam - but if anyone has any other suggestions or previous experiences, I'd sure like to hear them.  I'm pretty sure I'll still be working with direct paypal support the way I have before, but this might serve as a nice alternative.

Completely separate...I finally got around to starting my next associated blog - TransRepo Odds 'N Ends - for movie, etc reviewing.  Please feel free to check it out - I take requests, etc.  I've got a feeling it will probably get updated more frequently than this site.

Navetsea - Build-a-Bear

You's been a little while since I last saw one of those stores in the mall - they don't have one in the malls I live near....but even so, I'm don't think this is quite how they work.  Nice work by Navetsea.

Mr-DNA - After the Pageant

Well, Mr-DNA is really a great guy to keep the ball rolling.  If you folks haven't already caught it, we've got another little epilogue piece Rosemary's portion of the Fashion Pageant.

Seems some spells are a little more powerful than others ;p  Guest-starring (in a key role) Angela from the Underburbs as well.

Navetsea - Greasemonkeyin' Around

You know, every time I get my oil changed, they tell me synthetics are better for the life of the engine.  'Course that's great for my mileage, but I figure working around all those chemicals day in and day out has got to affect a guy in one way or another.

Navetsea helped me visualize what might happen to a fellow working a little too hard.  I'd say the end result turned out pretty well.  Besides, I think she's probably earned a night out on the town.

Solios - Girl's Night Out

It's taken me a while to get this one put together properly.  But I hope you'll agree with me that it turned out beautifully.  I always gotta challenge the artist - Solios says this is his largest single commission pic ever ;p  This is the big can see a smaller version on his DA page.

Discussion - Art Contest and Donation Artwork

At this point, now that I finally added the tab on the side of the screen for it - a reminder that we're a little over 2 months away from the due date for Art Contest #7.  Please push it to the artists you know who are interested in this kind of thing.  We got a great response last year with Art Contest #6 (much better than all the previous competitions).

Just like last year...pushing the heavy prize $$$ here for the quality pics.  Thanks.

On a side note, just wanted to throw out a thank you to a couple of recent donors for their support for the Donation Art Project.  Honestly, I've been seeing too many months lately when I have pretty much nothing to send to the artists.  It's not as though I expect to pull in a lot with these - I would have starved years ago ;p - no reliable source of income given the costs - but I will continue to provide them because I enjoy coming up with ideas and sharing them - and supporting artists in the process.  I'm happy if I can break even with a project over the period it's been posted on the site.  Right now I have at least 3 new projects planned for release this year and some other concepts loosely in the works.  That said, I continue to look on these as a way for folks to give back to an artist they enjoy even if they can't afford to commission the artist directly.  And trust me when I say that every cent I receive after the portions for paypal fees and artist support goes directly towards more art.

Solios - Work in Progress

A bit of a gag in the title since Solios' work here is definitely complete, but I think you'll agree it matches with the following pics :)

I've had some very large ensemble pics in the planning stages for a LONG time...and finally got down to really working on them with Solios.  Completely non-canon as far as Gecko Girls go, but I like revisiting the same characters with different looks.  I hope you enjoy these as well.
