Remembrances
So, once again an idea that came to me far too late...but worth putting out for folks who are interested.
As [I certainly hope] you're aware, 11 November is Veterans Day (and Remembrance Day or Armistice Day for most of our allies).
Honestly...I don't have a lot going on this year (better planning in advance would have helped). Next year I should really try and make it up to DC or something for one of the ceremonies. That said, I would like to try and work out some sort of special post on the 11th. No idea how well it will work out - but if you have any inclination to put any sort of remembrance artwork, I would love to do a special post here on the blog (whether or not it's been posted elsewhere before).
Not a paying project with this timeline, and not intended to cover any TF/TG or process themes - just a simple post honoring those who have gone before.
Thanks

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I this year, they've been filling the Tower of London moat with over 800,000 ceramic poppies, one for every World War I death among the Commonwealth nations. I happened to be there in September to see it in person, and it's overwhelming, to say the least. Here's the official site about the project.
ReplyDeleteHonestly...I'm not normally a big fan of art installation projects, but this is definitely a different sort. Might have to support them financially myself. Beautiful and moving tribute. Thanks for the link. Visited the tower back in 2002 my senior year of college....time flies.
