The First Caption Challenge - Results!

Well, I've got to say, this first caption contest has produced some really interesting entries.

It's been a difficult choice for some of the categories....but these ones just wowed me.

- Best single caption - Any single caption using a one-character pic. ($25)

Really like the use of this pic and the ending concept.  TG-Spain

- Best group caption - Any single caption using a pic with one or more characters. ($25)

Catfish

- Best caption sequence - Any set of two or more captions following a sequence/storyline (can use single or multiple character pics - no restrictions on which pictures from reference selection are used) ($50)

Without a doubt....Had to be the Brooke sequence by Furco.

- Best original design and caption - A little different - this category is looking for the really weird/unique/far-out concepts - I will accept minor photo-editing as well as potentially use of pics not included in my reference file - but must be approved on a case-by-case basis.  Must still conform to all other contest rules. ($35)

Love the design and formatting here - beautiful design by Mindy Z:

And finally:

- Best overall caption(s) - The one that really blows me away (single or sequence). ($50)

It's a big 'un, but the story really works well with the pic.  By Catfish.

  2. Congratulations to all the winners!

I was indeed worried that "Clothes Fur Renovation" was too long to really count as a "caption." It's cut down somewhat from the first draft; only thing I specifically remember cutting is that I'd originally named the animal-rights organization BREAD (a takeoff on PETA), Brothers Righteously Ending Animal Discomfort. Ha ha! So I think we can all be glad that got edited out.
