The First Caption Challenge - Results!

Well, I've got to say, this first caption contest has produced some really interesting entries. 

It's been a difficult choice for some of the categories....but these ones just wowed me.

- Best single caption - Any single caption using a one-character pic. ($25)

Really like the use of this pic and the ending concept.  TG-Spain

- Best group caption - Any single caption using a pic with one or more characters. ($25)

Catfish

- Best caption sequence - Any set of two or more captions following a sequence/storyline (can use single or multiple character pics - no restrictions on which pictures from reference selection are used) ($50)

Without a doubt....Had to be the Brooke sequence by Furco.

- Best original design and caption - A little different - this category is looking for the really weird/unique/far-out concepts - I will accept minor photo-editing as well as potentially use of pics not included in my reference file - but must be approved on a case-by-case basis.  Must still conform to all other contest rules. ($35)

Wow!  Just received a veritable slew of caption contest entries by fur-caption fan furco.

These ones cover pretty much all the categories.  So we'll start with the individual caps.

Project FG-1's goals of creating self-healing, regenerating clothing using fur and leather-based materials have encountered an unforeseen setback. While the prototypical materials are, in fact, successfully functioning, a complication has arisen. When exposed to living tissue, undesired and uncontrolled growth and expansion is occurring, consuming tissue to provide more mass and energy.

Our first and second test models both exhibited this unexpected side effect, and unfortunately, we have not determined any way to reverse the damage. We are keeping them in storage pending further review.

FurCo - The TransRepo 2013 Collection - Unexpected Results

Well, I guess some companies will do anything for a buck.  Seems TransRepo Industries is finding out that not every "technique" out there can be replicated by science.  At least not perfectly...

FurCo - The TransRepo 2013 Collection

As with any new style in fashion, after every innovator comes an imitator.  Never content to sit on the sidelines when there's money to be made, TransRepo Industries is diving headfirst in to the Furrification market with their new 2013 collection.  Thanks to FurCo for digging these up.

It appears that these are being marketed more towards the budget-minded fashionista.  We'll have to see how this "science vs magic" conceit plays itself out.

Wow...not sure how FurCo gets on the mailing list for these things.  I've got no luck at all....

Seems that La De Baucherie Magique is continuing it's fashion-setting trend of furrification with a new set of designs.  Guess it's all for the best given the ongoing weather in some parts of the country.

Mertail - One Hot Kitty

You know....I'm really not sure why I don't work with more cat-girls.  There are a lot of great concepts out there - even ones that work for me.   Just need to have a little more than ears and a tail I guess.

Sooo, I turned to Mertail for one new look.  Still need to get more photomanips on this site.

Quick Update

Just a short note...we're still truckin' - got a great new update planned on Monday - a 13 part comic by Blackshirtboy!  I'll be utilizing a posting scheme similar to Showdown at Grave's Dam and Morphball Acquired - M, W, F posting till it's complete, but will need a certain amount of audience participation each post...gotta get some feedback here.  Hopefully at least 5 comments a day!

In the meantime, just to tide you over past the weekend - a beautiful piece of Gift Art from FurCo.

The Harajuku region of Tokyo is well-known for it's fashionistas and trendsetters...perhaps not surprisingly, they've been among the first in Japan to undergo furrification...let's hope they're not the last!

Donation Art Updates and New Gift Art

One more update for tonight.

First a quick reminder - please include the name/listing of the project you'd like to see when you donate.  I'm not sure why the "note" box doesn't always seem to be present with paypal, but please feel free to contact me through email at paypal or here (thrandrall at gmail.com).

Also, please make sure the email attached to your account is good - the only email I see is the one attached to your paypal account - so if it's no longer valid, please check it because I can't send to any other addresses unless you include it in the note or email me separately - specifically for a recent German donor.

Now on a completely separate note, I'm very happy to have some new animations to share in the Gift Art portion of the site.  I was recently contacted by a very talented artist going by Nobunaga who was happy to share some very classy animations.  I'm hosting images from the animations on the site with links to rapidshare downloads for the full files.  They're large, but definitely worth it.  Please check them out!

Just another quick post - stay tuned for a big new post tonight - but in the meantime, there's a beautiful new photomorph on the Gift Art page from something-wild.  Great guy to work with - hope to work on a few more pics with him.

General Update (and new Gift Art!)

Just a quick breakdown of a couple of things.  Disappointed as I am by the general results of the last art contest - I will still have at least one more this year...just gotta do it given the times...should post a breakdown on it in the next month or so - probably a 6 month time limit or thereabouts.

Don't want folks to think I'm getting into too much of a rut with some of the same artists - though it seems the longer you work with someone, the easier it is...just for discussion, pricing and general quality of visualization.  Still, I'm totally open to working with new artists all the time - a number on my list to check with shortly - and if you'd like to be featured here as well, please drop me a note with a link to your work.  I've commissioned several artists that way already.

Now...a gorgeous piece of artwork by Ian T. Dote - a few years old from well before I started this site - I'd almost forgotten about it till recently.  My first "request granted" piece of artwork - and he gave me permission to post it here!

Art Contest Entry - in-FUR-no

The first and only entry for Art Contest #5.  I can't say I'm not disappointed by the weak showing in numbers, but in-FUR-no has put together an excellent little sequence - captions and all.  I certainly can't think of any reason not to give him 1st Prize!

Last Update (for a while)

Well folks...like it says, and as I mentioned before, posting will be light for a time.  I'll be out of town for work-related reasons for the better part of the next couple of months.  This time however, I'm taking my laptop.  I expect to have periodic access for emails, donations, etc - starting in a little over a week.  I hope to be able to make a few update posts now and then as well as a few commissions are still gestating...might also be able to start a few more during this time...or at least write up some decent ones!

So, basically, starting tomorrow - "Out of Town Pricing" will be in effect until otherwise noted.  YMMV, but I hope to have enough access to send out donations within 24-48 hours...although there may be a period later on when I have to quit for a longer period (I'll give a heads up prior).

In the meantime, I do appreciate the votes on my most recent poll and the accompanying comments.  I may have more contests in the future, but for the moment, I'll concentrate on writing/funding some additional lengthy commissions for you folks.  Some may wind up in the Donation section if I feel they're worthy....but the majority will stay on the normal site ;p

Finally, Nugget has submitted a photomorph sequence - great for those of us who like incremental changes.  You can find it on the Gift Art page.

FurCo - Targeted Advertising (La De Baucherie Magique)

Well, seems FurCo was right on the money.  Seems Mistress Arianna is trying some new advertising formats - casting her net wide in a search for new customers.  A variety of similar themed ads targeted towards specific demographics.  Most intriguing!

More Gift Art, etc

Probably the final art post for 2010 (still a couple more news posts tonight)!  Featuring more photomorphs from nugget in Gift Art.  Speaking of which, nugget would like you to know that he will take requests for transformation subjects (actresses, etc) - provided it's related to mouse/rat, rabbit or donkey.  You can leave requests in the comments section of this thread.

I also have a new pin-up of Mac and Meg on the Growing Up Gecko page.  Hope to get more of them in the next year.  I thought I had a post about this page previously, but can't find anything on it.

FurCo - The Perfect Outfit

Sometimes it just takes a while to pick out the perfect outfit.  Then when you think you've got it right...turns out *you* are the outfit.  Great little photomorph sequence by FurCo. 

A little different from some of my other projects, but turned out just how I was hoping.
