AutumnNatural - Salon Dreams 1

Well....apologies to everyone - and most especially to AutumnNatural - this was supposed to be posted weeks ago and I've just been on an absolutely crazy work schedule.  So we'll be putting this one up over the course of the week - 10 gorgeous pages from an amazing artist.

AutumnNatural - Body Art (3)

Time to get to work.  It takes more skill to tattoo with the old tools, but people are willing to pay a premium for the quality.

AutumnNatural - Body Art (2)

Madam Ari (as she went locally) sighed - she loved the region this time of century, but she could never get over the heat and humidity that hung in the air - it just drained a gal, no matter how young she might feel.  And feeling drained....sometimes you just lost track of things - forget the simple things that were normally so easy to focus on.

AutumnNatural - Body Art (1)

'Circa 1970 or so, a young airman on leave hits up the back alleys of Bangkok.  He's heard rumors about a tattoo parlor in the area run by a very special woman.  The name he was given didn't match what he was seeing on the sign in front of him, but then he can't speak Thai either.

He can't quite place the look of the woman greeting him either.  She's very attractive, but there's a real sense of age around her as well.  Almost something mystical - so....this must be the right place.  He'd heard from one of the guys in his unit - a real tattoo aficionado - that there were some artists out there who could do magical things with the ink - the right image in the right place could make all the difference.

Quick Update

Apologies for the lack of pics lately - been pretty busy and waiting for a few projects to wrap up.  That kinda slow period - but I've got a good feeling about this month.

For one thing, we've got a brand new project by AutumnNatural - posting all week long next week.

Also looking at a new caption contest to run for the next few months - cash prizes as usual - plus additional bonuses.  Stay tuned for details in the next coupla days.

Stay tuned - more works in progress!

AutumnNatural - Beachcombers (Conclusion)

Well, I didn't really have much of a story in mind for this one - other than wanting to see some specific designs - and I think AutumnNatural really hit all the high points with this piece.

I am very curious what you all think about a piece like this - without any dialog or major context (does anyone feel I'm doing viewers a disservice by not including dialog, etc?)....and does anyone want to try and put specific periods on each swimwear design here?  I tried to hit pretty much every period style I could chronologically - going both ways :)  As always...I really do appreciate real feedback!

AutumnNatural - Beachcombers 2

Continuing with my fascination with vintage/retro styles - among *many* other things, we follow our intrepid heroes trekking across the sand....I mean...c'mon...that stuff gets hot.

Beautiful lines and colors provided by AutumnNatural.

AutumnNatural - Beachcombers 1

No fooling this time around - AutumnNatural put together a beautiful sequence here - to my somewhat....exacting standards :)  Only seems fair to draw it out a little over the weekend to take advantage of the time.

I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.

via wikipedia: "Beachcombing is an activity that consists of an individual "combing" (or searching) the beach and the intertidal zone, looking for things of value, interest or utility."

5 Year Anniversary!

Wow!  5 years on this blog.  Not too shabby...even if I don't really want to think about how much money I've spent on it over this time :)  Worth it overall I'd say - and I hope the artists concur.

Technically my first full commission was about 18 months earlier than the April 9, 2010 launch date - although some of my Andrade sequences might have predated that too - I'm a little rusty on my dates at the moment since the sticky site appears to have been closed down (and I don't have all the older emails available).

Now, in addition to the AutumnNatural sequence I'll be posting this weekend (and any gift art I receive), I do have one or two other surprises up my sleeve(s) for fans.  I guess I was a little premature with my 5,000,000 pageview contest, but I'll keep it running till someone wins....or until I launch the next iteration of this site - whichever comes first (hint....it'll probably be at least 2 months for the 2nd option, so don't worry if you're watching the ticker).

AutumnNatural - Beachcombers

Wow, I am so happy to present a brand new project by the amazing AutumnNatural.  This piece has been in progress for a long time and I love how it turned out - really hit a lot of my interests.

That's right - a 10 page, full color comic - by an extremely talented artist.

Continued after the break.

The La De Baucherie Magique Fashion Pageant - The Last Category - 2

Mac: "And we're back with part two of our last night!"

Meg: "Good to be together one last time - even if it does get wrapped up faster than anticipated."

Gany: "Sometimes, things just roll a little quicker than we'd like.  On with the show!"

Mac: "She looks alluring and enticing - it's Leslie Baker."

The La De Baucherie Magique Fashion Pageant - The Fourth Category - 2

Mac: "Welcome back to the second half of this very sexy night."

Meg: "Yep, plenty more very revealing gals to reveal!"

Mac: "Ok...so you gonna take off that trench coat yet."

Meg: "Nope.  I'll give you a peek though."

Mac: "Oh my gracious!!!  Well I never."

Meg: "Don't say I didn't warn you."

Mac: "Momma would be so ashamed of you."

Meg: "Please, she's the one who suggested it - she knew it'd get a rise out of you."

Mac: "Ahem...enough of that.  How're you doing Gany?"

Gany: "Ohhhhhh my head.  Feels like I've got buffalo in there."

Meg: "Not seeing any more pink elephants?"

Gany: "I swear, that's the last time I drink......on a live feed."

Mac: "I guess we can settle for that.  Moving on to the contestants again - Leslie Baker has once again proved me wrong.  I didn't think she could ever make adult undergarments so sexy."

The La De Baucherie Magique Fashion Pageant - The Third Category - 2

Mac: "Welcome back to the second half of tonight's competition."

Meg: "What's this?  You promised you'd zip yourself back up if I warmed up your suit."

Mac: "Five gallons of hot tomato soup down the back of the neck isn't the same thing."

Meg: "Seriously...you've got enough fat to keep you warm as well - you shouldn't need any help from me."

Mac: "And you've got that nice coat - why don't you lend me the hat?"

Meg: "I've got no hair, you've got piles of it keeping your brain nice and toasty."

Gany: "Come on girls, no need for another fight - there's still plenty of contestants to see - I'm sure seeing some of the outfits there will warm you right up."

Mac: "Fine Meg, we'll talk about this later.  For now, let's take a look at Leslie Baker."

The La De Baucherie Magique Fashion Pageant - The Second Category - 2

Mac: "So Meg, did you get a chance to cool off during the break?"

Meg: "If you can call it that....I certainly wouldn't call it a real pool - a hot tub at best - admittedly a little cooler than normal."

Gany: "Quit complaining - you enjoyed it when I hosed you down."

Meg: "I dunno, there's just something about being sprayed with water from someone else's nose that does it for me."

Mac: "I'm not even going to ask.  Let's get back to the contestants."
